The Resnet Training is usually pursued by Raters who are the professionals who rate the buildings pre and post installation of the Home star Products. These raters have to undergo a training program and then give a Resnet National rates test which is basically an online test with 50 multiple choice questions. The test is an open book test and the candidates have 2 hours to complete it. The concepts are on building science and rating procedures.

The raters immediately get the success percentage after the test. The candidate has to get a minimum of 80% to become a qualified rater. There is a directory of accredited rater training providers where you can enroll yourself and become eligible to take the test.

The categories of questions are building science and heat transfer, building diagnostics, air distribution leakage, calculating gross and net area, energy terminology, energy units, health and safety, envelope leakage, insulation, equipment efficiency, comfort problems, household appliances, door and window efficiency, etc.

The Resnet Training is mandatory for candidates who wish to become the Rating Field Inspectors. The candidates also need to pass a National Rating Field Inspector test administered by RESNET. This Test was developed by professionals who have had prior experience in the rating industry. The nation wide rating provider and training providers have designed the categories for the test.
